Rotary HEP Hero George de Souza

George de Souza

Construction Manager | Rotary Club of Camberwell

I spent most of my working life in the Human Resources arena (Payroll & HR) space and held the roles of Payroll manager, Recruitment Consultant, Human Resources Manager and Strategic Client Partner.

For the last two years whilst transitioning to retirement I held the role of Building Manager, and managed an apartment complex of 406 apartments.

I am now officially retired. I joined the Rotary Club of Camberwell in 2016 and have held the roles of Bulletin editor, Speaker program coordinator and currently the role of Treasurer. I am married with two adult children.

I was a blood donor (fairly rare blood type) and a number of years ago asked my wife to come and donate blood with me. She did and that is when we discovered she had hepatitis C.

We need to remove the stigma, get a greater focus on hepatitis and try to eradicate it globally.

George’s message to others:

Let’s eradicate it globally!
