Funding to vaccinate an additional 10 000 Victorians for hepatitis B
3 May 2017
The latest Victoria State budget (2017/18) has announced $1.3 million to expand the hepatitis B vaccination program and vaccinate an additional 10 000 Victorians.
$21.8 million over four years has also been confirmed to fund increased interpreters, some of which will be for improving access to health services.
Melanie Eagle, CEO, Hepatitis Victoria says the funding announcement in this year’s Victorian State Budget (2017/18) is “welcome as it begins the investment in hepatitis - through expanding the immunisation program for hepatitis B. But more will need to be done to achieve the Victorian 2017-2020 Hepatitis Strategies.”
